The Chemex has been part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art since 1943. The result is equipment that earns its place on a counter rather than hiding in a cabinet.
The brewing method is slower than most. Water passes through Chemex's own thick bonded filter papers, which remove oils and fine particles that other methods leave behind. The cup is exceptionally clean — bright, clear, and precise. If your coffee has complexity, a Chemex will find it.
Capacity: 3-cup (450ml) or 6-cup (900ml). The 6-cup is the standard choice. Note: Requires Chemex Bonded filter papers — not compatible with standard V60 cone filters. Care: Hand-wash recommended. Remove the wooden collar before cleaning. Best with: Kenya AA Gulmarg or Nicaragua Finca Santa Maria — coffees where floral complexity benefits from a clean, clarified extraction.
